Good value, clear features

I signed up for the Premium Subscription and took advantage of the annual discount. The 45-day free trial let me really dig in and see if it was a good fit before committing. Importing my old Mint data was straightforward, took less time than I expected. The category customization is really flexible, much better than what I had before. I also liked the Multi-Device Sync; I can check things on my phone or laptop easily. Support responded quickly when I had a question about split transactions. Overall, for the price, it felt like a smart investment in my financial tracking.

Consistent and reliable service

I've been using CountAbout for a couple of years now, mostly the Premium Subscription, and it's always been solid. This last renewal was just as smooth as the others. Data import from Quicken still works great, which was my main reason for switching originally. They keep things ad-free, which I appreciate.

Easy to get started

I was looking for a budgeting tool and my friend told me about CountAbout. I just got the Basic Subscription and it was pretty easy to set up. I linked my bank accounts and the automatic transaction downloading worked without a hitch. Felt good not having to do it all by hand, saved me a lot of time.

Mostly good, minor gripe

I tried CountAbout's Premium Subscription for a few months now. The ad-free budgeting interface is definitely a plus, and the automatic transaction downloading is reliable. I imported my old Quicken data and that went smoothly enough. My only small issue was with the mobile budgeting app; it's functional, but felt a little less intuitive than the desktop version for some of the more detailed reporting. Still, the overall value for tracking finances is high, and customer service was helpful when I reached out about a specific transaction categorization.

Worth the annual prepay

I was trying to save some money and saw the annual subscription discount for the Premium Plan. It worked out to be a good chunk cheaper than monthly payments. The 45-day free trial was helpful to make sure I actually liked it before paying. Felt like I got a good deal and the features like Net Worth Tracker and Financial Reporting are proving useful.

Saw some chatter about discounts for people coming from Mint. Is that still a thing?

M Mike 2 months ago
They sometimes have special promo codes for Mint users, especially when Mint was shutting down. Check their site or ask customer service.

I think they did a big push when Mint closed. Not sure if it's ongoing, but it's worth looking into.

What's the difference between basic and premium? is premium worth the extra cost?

A Andre Okafor 1 month ago
Premium gets you things like invoicing and attachment storage, plus some more advanced reporting. If you just need basic budgeting, basic is fine.

I went with Premium because I run a small side business and the invoicing feature is super handy. For just personal stuff, Basic is probably enough.

Is it true CountAbout is totally ad-free? that's a big deal for me, hate pop-ups and stuff in my budgeting app.

J Julia 1 month ago
Yep, no ads at all. It's one of their main selling points actually.

Definitely ad-free. It's really nice not having that clutter when you're trying to focus on your money.
